Shed of the year 2011 judge Dr Wood from Cuprinol

Just a little bio of one of this years judges

I’m Simon aka Dr. Wood and on facebook his mantra is “I’m here to answer any garden wood related questions!”

I’ve been working for Cuprinol for 5 years now and manage the research & development team. Apart from working on developing new products, I spend a lot of time advising people about treating fencing, sheds, garden furniture and decking, both at work and in my personal life (yes, my garden-loving friends do take full advantage of my knowledge…).

Awards I was a judge on the Shed of the Year Competition in 2010. Ok, it might not be an award as such, but it was certainly an honour! 🙂

My son has a wooden house in the garden, which he calls Matthew’s house. He refers to our house as Mummy and Daddy’s house. At the moment he regards the garden as daddy’s, mommy’s and Matthew’s space but we’ll see for how long…

As a family we really love spending time in the garden and I’m even growing my own fruit and veg. I made a wooden propagator for all the little seedlings from wood I salvaged and then coated in Garden Shades Country Cream and I’m also constantly on the lookout for new projects. My last woodcare job was treating the back garden fence and next up is the trellis on my garage – I’m thinking Somerset Green at the moment but that could still change.

You can catch Dr Woods – on Wednesdays with Dr. Wood on facebook.
