    Just a reminder one of the great prizes for the overall winner of Shed of the year is courtesy of our friends at the Cheese Shed.

    They are giving away a Subscription (four boxes over the course of the year) as a prize for Shed Of The Year worth £130 !

    Now, if I was just your average cheese-lover-in-the-street (rather than Bovey Tracey’s Leading Shed-based Virtual Cheesemonger), I’d probably love to get a box of cheese turning up at my door. On the assumption that some of you might feel the same, we now proudly present:

    the Cheese Shed Subscription.

    Simply, this is a way of ordering a regular delivery of cheese from us. In the first week of each month, we’ll be sending out boxes containing about 200g of five contrasting cheeses (as in the Cheese Shed Selection). You’ll get about one kilo in all, and we’ll vary the selection from month to month, so hopefully the contents will always be a delightful surprise!

    Also those canny lot have come up with the great Wall of cheese, which shows the wonderful cheeses they supply just think four walls of cheese make a shed.

    If you are a company wanting to sponsor either Shed Week and/or “Shed of the year” then please contact me

    You all know we are found of cheese here on the shedblog, and in fact we have an offical cheesemonger for Shed week, in the wossname of The Cheese shed.

    A time lapse film showing a unique sculpture of Cardiff Castle being chiseled out of Welsh cheddar is being used to highlight the staging of the Great British Cheese Festival in the famous Welsh landmark for the first time in September (27-28)

    Win the perfect thing for Father’s day - cheese

    Normally I would say the perfect gift for fathers’s day would be a shed.

    But our friends over at the Cheese Shed have put together a great cheese related gift pack that you sheddies can win.

    It’s a well-known Law Of The Universe that all Dads like cheese, and only a short step form there to the realisation that the ideal Fathers Day present has to be a cheese gift box. And by an extraordinary twist of fate, The Cheese Shed has that very thing to hand!

    Their gift box, designed with Dad in mind, features:

    * An excellent hard cows’ milk cheese - either the gorgeous 500g Baby Menallack, strong, artisan cheese at its best, or a tangy 400g Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar;
    * Black-eyed Susan - a 160g organic brie-style cheese from Daisy and co. This creamy delight is studded with black peppercorns;
    * Biscuits to go with the cheese: a box of Millers Damsels;
    * A bottle of Luscombe Organic Cider. The Shed being in Devon, what could be more appropriate than the Westcountry’s very own tipple?
    * An assortment of Brownes Handmade Truffles. Because there’s more to life than cheese.

    All packed in an immaculate hand-made presentation box with the Cheese Shed logo in gold.

    of course the cheese shed is the official cheese monger for National Shed week.
