Cheese shed: Win a hamper of Cheese

Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds, we love sheds. You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed or by Email, or read our past posts, or maybe you would like to buy a shed?

Long-standing fans of ReaderSheds will know that only one cheesemonger can claim to be the Official Cheesemonger By Appointment to the Shed of the Year Competition. This, of course, is The Cheese Shed, which has fought off all-comers to retain the coveted title. Duties include wearing the special regalia, mongering freely as required, and tempting passing Sheddies with offers such as this Cheese Hamper.

Enter the draw to have a chance of winning this mouth-watering collection of cheese-related goodies, including about a kilo of the good stuff itself (5 contrasting types), along with biscuits, chutney, potato chips and chocolate … and worth over £50 including delivery.

Not a shed made of cheese but a Castle

You all know we are found of cheese here on the shedblog, and in fact we have an offical cheesemonger for Shed week, in the wossname of The Cheese shed.

But you have to see this, to celebrate Cardiff hosting this years Great British Cheese festival, they have got a bloke to make Cardiff Castle out of cheese.

A time lapse film showing a unique sculpture of Cardiff Castle being chiseled out of Welsh cheddar is being used to highlight the staging of the Great British Cheese Festival in the famous Welsh landmark for the first time in September (27-28)

Remember you can still win some of their great cheese yourself in the special shed week wossname.

but in the meantime I think a pint is coming my way….

thanks everyone and lets hope the rest of Shed Week is as exciting, with the International shed of the year and Photo Competitions to decide.

Remember you can add your shed for Shed of the year 2009 Now, I will show the news ones at the end of the week, but I have a new rule, if you upload a shed you must add at least two images, Inside and Outside, otherwise the shed will not show on the site.

I will be looking at the categories soon but use the existing ones and you can edit it later..

Win the perfect thing for Father’s day - cheese

Normally I would say the perfect gift for fathers’s day would be a shed.

But our friends over at the Cheese Shed have put together a great cheese related gift pack that you sheddies can win.

It’s a well-known Law Of The Universe that all Dads like cheese, and only a short step form there to the realisation that the ideal Fathers Day present has to be a cheese gift box. And by an extraordinary twist of fate, The Cheese Shed has that very thing to hand!

Their gift box, designed with Dad in mind, features:

* An excellent hard cows’ milk cheese - either the gorgeous 500g Baby Menallack, strong, artisan cheese at its best, or a tangy 400g Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar;
* Black-eyed Susan - a 160g organic brie-style cheese from Daisy and co. This creamy delight is studded with black peppercorns;
* Biscuits to go with the cheese: a box of Millers Damsels;
* A bottle of Luscombe Organic Cider. The Shed being in Devon, what could be more appropriate than the Westcountry’s very own tipple?
* An assortment of Brownes Handmade Truffles. Because there’s more to life than cheese.

All packed in an immaculate hand-made presentation box with the Cheese Shed logo in gold.

shed load of cheese

of course the cheese shed is the official cheese monger for National Shed week.
