My Sheddie : Geoff Hill & the Water Shed

The Water Shed

This shed seems to be getting lots of coverage in the media I have no reason why – oh it’s on water :), anyway here is the My Sheddie interview with owner & creator of the Water shed.

The Water Shed

Selfbuild or off the shelf shed?

The watershed combines self build and the most commonly bought shed in the U.K. last year the ‘Everyman’ shed. The base was constructed by Mid Wales welding in Machynlleth and the buoyancy provided by sectional buoys originally designed for oil rigs that I happened to have lying around!!!

Why have you got a shed? uses etc

The Watershed is not just for me but for anybody who wants to spend some quality shed time bobbing around on the Dyfi estuary in Southern Snowdonia. It has been used by musicians, artists, poets as well as the more traditional wood and metal workers and holiday makers escaping from their children on the beach….

How would you describe your shed?

The Watershed is a floating pavilion of all things shed like.

Who are your Shed inspirations

Shed inspiration came from my father, who spent many quality hours pottering in his shed.

Future Shed plans

I am considering adding a floating compost heap this year.

How did you find out about our community

Once the Watershed was built, many visitors told me of ‘Readers Sheds’.

What word would you use to sum up Sheds

Buoyant.

If you think you have a shed that can compete with Geoff’s in the Shed of the year competition then why not share it over at www.readersheds.co.uk and you could be in the running for the £1000 prize from Cuprinol and your shed could have the title of Shed of the year 2012 🙂
