The Olympics and the allotments

Did you see the BBC show last night Building the Olympic Dream, it was about the Manor Garden allotments we have mentioned a few times, that were torn down for the Olympic wossname.

  1. I agree Simon, they could have been a bit Greener and Community wise, but when these high powered people are focused on one thing the the little people get dumped on….

  2. Thanks for posting this uncle Wilco, I'll watch it tonight. The Manor Gardens business made me very cross. It wouldn't have been beyond the wit of man to incorporate the site into the Olympic stadium thingy, but I don't believe the suits gave it a second's thought. That allotments was a community of decent people who had years and years invested in the site and each other, and you just can't uproot that and transplant it.
