Plane crashes into back garden

An elderly couple who had a lucky escape when a plane landed in their garden told the pilot: “Thanks for dropping in.”

Eileen Watling, 71, and husband Alfie, 83, were settling down to watch a movie on TV when the Cessna light aircraft, carrying two people, landed nose-first in their conifers.

The pilot had got into trouble in thick fog and didn’t realise how low they were flying over the village of Lyminge in Kent.
