Wonderful tiny house/shed

Shed of the year has been announced. Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds! You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.

Recordnet.com has this great article about a tiny house builder, (he builds tiny houses that is)

Jay Shafer’s home is 100 square feet.

Shafer, the Sebastopol-based creator of Tumbleweed Tiny House Co., lives in a house the size of a garden shed. Yet he boasts he enjoys all the comforts of home.
I went up to see for myself.

At first sight, Shafer’s home, nestled in an apple orchard on Sebastopol’s outskirts, strikes a passer-by as some sort of outbuilding; a tool shed, perhaps, or a pump house.
A closer look reveals a well-designed A-frame house built with a homey cedar exterior, paned windows and a front porch.

You can see more of the designs here.

  1. Yes, they’re great. You can even get them on wheels for some portable shedworking fun. I think he should market them over here in the UK as I bet there’s a market for them. Perhaps he’s looking for a franchisee…

  2. Of course Alex would know about them before me ;)
