Shedblog and readersheds are on holiday

Shed of the year has been announced. Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds! You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.

Going away for a few days..

back next week..

so if you share your shed, dont worry It will be live when I return

This blogger is now ‘relieved’

I mentioned that I needed/wanted one of these for shedweek.

and I was sent one.. thanks to the berocca people…. a bit late for shedweek, but always welcome, been busy

Sheddies how did you find this site?

Looking at my logs and stats and the like, it’s intresting how people find shedblog from google and the others.

shed base
shed plans
shed of the year
how to build a shed
camping pods
shed insulation
shed paint
shed roofing
garden bar
build your own tardis
erecting a shed
bark chippings
how to move a shed

But I would like to know how you heard about us, please leave your comments below and the most witty will win something from my shed…. (no spider mind you)

My boss knows the score

Still high on the shedness of shedweek, but came down to earth with a bump, when I went back to work last week.

But my boss, I think knows how I feel, he got me this mug, from the wonderful Dyffryn gardens

It says I’d rather be in my shed but is tea soaked.

Great pre Shed week traffic - thanks Dr Who

Last week we had a great week in terms of eyeballs looking at the sheds, and it was all thanks to Dr Who, well really to his time machine the TARDIS and some good traffic to the pubsheds and of course the run up to Shed week got some people voting for their favorites and of course people where looing at many pages instead of just one, which is what every website owner wants.

My logs said this…

945,684 Hits ! 32,888 visitors!

You can see what the online community had been saying about the sheds here.

Hopefully we can get some of that traffic back to see the Shed of the year winner, now all I need to do is get my Shedblog readers up and that would be great.

If you have a TARDIS shed you would like to share for next years competition then pop along here.

Shedblog subscribers update

WE have finally broken the mythical 100 subscribers to the shedblog feed

Watch it go up/down/down/up/down here

of course you can subscribe to my shed based mutterings via email as well.

of course you can also follow me on twitter as well and you will get updates to the Flickr photo competition on that feed as well.

Talk about sheds in our Forum

Our Forum is finally working (or looks better anyway) so get on there to talk about your shed build now.

you need to be a member of the blog to post.

Shedblog most Freakiest blogger

Well no one else was going to submit this blog to any award things :( like that alex over at shedworking gets all sorts of awards ;)

So I thought I would put myself up on the bloggerschoicewards site, I went for hobby blog and humour (as they did not have grumpy ba$tard award) and this one.

My site was nominated for Freakiest Blogger!

please vote for me..!

Interact with the sheds

With all the talk of Social wossname and user interaction and the like, I thought I would find other ways of you sheddies getting involved with readersheds/shedblog and of course Shed week, currently you can just Contact me using the standard form and I will try and answer your email, or post on the Forum or even follow me on twitter, no that’s posh.

But I saw this post on a great blog called makeuseof, It promotes a new tool that allows you to create a suggestion box on your blog, that allows quick feedback from your users.

Skribit

is a user-generated content suggestion application for blogs. Effortlessly assemble what your readers really want to hear.

anyway the widget is in the righthand side of the blog, and below, so give it a go, click on the Question and post something.

Skribit: Social Suggestions

so be gentle and tell me what you want! maybe you want to promote your shed or your event during shed week or even just say hi or ask a shed related question.

Once people have voted for the Questions I will promote the most popular as a post on the blog and try and and answer it for the sheddie.

Shedblog blog tagged

I have been blogged tagged by Alex over at shedworking, rules at the bottom.

anyway here are my random things about me

  • I trained as a chef many years ago- but still enjoy cooking for fun
  • I drink my coffee black and tea white (2 sugars in both if no-one is watching)
  • I have not been to the hairdressers for over 13 years
  • I only passed my driving test in Dec 2007 - not a fan of driving but had to and it was first attempt.
  • I am really bad at DIY when told what needs to be done, but when left alone I try hard and sometimes don’t fail.
  • My favourite film is the Quiet Man starring John Wayne - thanks to brainwashing from the O’Connor’s while I was a child :)

and here are the blogs that I am tagging, hopefully they will carry on the tag

Shedblog back

Well sort of. Looks like we had a few technical issues while I was away and Alex could not do his guest posts.

not to worry I will try and post the Shed of the Week later, as I have a lot of other things to catch up with.

The shedblog is on holiday

I’m off on holiday from the shed for a week..

Alex from shedworking.co.uk will be posting the odd thing here, if he has time and he thinks it’s related to what you shedblog readers want, so look out for proper use of grammer and spelling…

Also if you have shared your shed then it won’t be live until when I get back… so take more photos and we can look at it then.

also when I get back I hope to get the run up to Shed Week really started!

so will see you soon

thanks wilco
