Sheds on the ONE show?

I have been contacted by the production company that do the ONE show quirky features.. and they say the following.

I now have the transmission dates for the ‘Sheds’ programmes and just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their contribution, hospitality and humour. The team really enjoyed working on this project, and I hope you are entertained by the final product.

Sheds 1 - Friday 9 November
Sheds 2 - Thursday 15 November
Sheds 3 - Wednesday 21st November

So I say set the Betamax up in the shed to record it.

Of course if one of my sheddies is on the show good luck, and let me know if you are, as the production company has not said who made it through, which was a shame as the work myself and the sheddies put in to helping them create their show, ah TV people and their funny ways.

Anyway I hope readersheds.co.uk gets a mention.

25ft x 9ft beach hut goes for £91,00

STOPSHED: IN fact it went for £91,00 according to thisisdevon

/>>>>

The beeb is reporting another of those over priced and over there beach huts, this time in Teignmouth near devon.

A beach chalet in Devon is expected to fetch at least £40,000 at auction. The hut, near the harbour at Teignmouth, is one of a number which rarely come to the market as they tend to remain in families for generations.

Invented in a shed - Bras?

Not that Bras are invented in a shed, but I will get to my jist in a minute.

I saw this story

INVENTOR WINS SUPPORT FOR REVOLUTIONARY BRA

A scientist and inventor has won support for a revolutionary backless, strapless bra from a major regional funding body, it was disclosed today.

The Faveo Freedom bra, billed as a “breast-support system for women with a larger bra size”, was launched in February

and it reminded me of the great I T Crowd episode, last week I think, when Moss invented a great Bra in fact it was Abracada-Bra.

and then that got me thinking I need to get a list fo things invented/created in a shed.. well it’s a shedblog after all..

any more you can think of.

Shed based Cheese for Local Hero

Just had some good news from Ian at the Cheese shed, (the offical Cheesemongers for Shed Week) well they are through to the “regional  finals” of the UKTV Food ‘Local Hero’ competition.

They will be on the telly in November and the Shed of the name, the Cheeseshed will be on the telly, so good news for sheds on TV fans.

Celebrity sheddie : Walt Disney

Thanks to Alex for doing the ground work, but appently Walt started the shed empire, sorry mouse empire from his Uncle’s converted garage, so nearly a shedlike atmosphere.

Video of the Week: 2 blokes one shed and an oildrum

Thanks to Dennis of  Sheddingham palace for sending me this link.

Two Dorset men are causing a real stir in the world of DIY with their first shed based video on Utube entitled “How to build an oil drum BBQ”, although a little late in the season for grilled outdoor cuisine the project video has attracted attention from all parts of the globe including Alaska and Brazil in the South !! Mark Botwright and Dennis Spacey were commissioned to build two BBQ’s for a local bigwig and had the idea of filming the build for the greater good.

great shed as well, maybe they can share it soon.

Southwold beach hut sells for £90K

The Suffolk and Essex online reports with the shocking report that beach huts are seen as glorified garden sheds, oh and they sell for a lot of many.

FOR many they are little more than glorified garden sheds with a pretty sea view, but a buyer desperate for a beach hut in the prime location of Southwold recently paid more than £90,000 for the privilege.“As soon as a beach hut comes onto the market it’s gone within days,” said Durrants office manager Roseanne Green.“A hut in the Gun Hill area of Southwold went recently for in excess of £90,000.“I do not know why people are prepared to pay so much for a beach hut - but the fact that it is in Southwold seems to be enough for some people.”

Beach hut of the week - dominos!?!?!

I saw these in my google alerts for beachhuts, not only are they nice looking and totally unique, it reminded me that I have not played dominos for years..

This clever person made them.

I wonder how much from some SHED ones.

Shock for TARDIS shed fans, DR WHO 5 postponed

AS you know readersheds is a big fan of the shed from Dr Who, ie the Tardis and we have many a Who fan as sheddies.

anyway it’s being reported that Dr Who’s fifth series is postponed under 2010 and the peoples favourite, David Tennant’s appearance in a fifth series of Doctor Who looked uncertain today as it was announced that the next run of the sci-fi show will be postponed until 2010.

With the fourth series, starring Tennant, due to hit TV screens next year, viewers would expect to see a fifth series in 2009.

The fifth series has been postponed so that the Casanova star can take to the stage to play Hamlet with the Royal Shakespeare Company from July to November next year.

A Doctor Who spokeswoman said of whether Tennant would be returning to the Tardis for a fifth series: “It’s too early to comment.”

First butts now the t!ts and bum fashion police

You know when you have made it, When your website is a favorite of those TV fashion gurus Trinny and Susannah, on their website under the Gardening links.

OK its not for my fashion sense, its for your sheds.. of course..

You’ve heard of Readers Wives… see photos of other people’s garden sheds. Everyone thinks their own shed is the sexiest.

Not sure about sexiest shed, but we all love our own in our own little way and sometimes behind the closed shed door.

Now just need them to share their sheds, which will probably be fashionably and have a lot up top with with a well hidden bottom.. andyou can get a Trinny & Susannahs’ The Bum, Tum and Thigh Reducer Magic Knickers, I may give them a miss, what with the Arse shaped Water butts, I have hit rock bottom!
