Hi

I’m a new subscriber and just read a posting from Andy about digging trenches and laying cables etc.

Anyway, I’m in the throes of buying a house and due to limited space (small house with a long garden), I aim to install a garden office, which will be about 35 metres from the house. I’m fairly confident about getting the electrics side of things sorted – but am wondering about the most effective/efficient way of setting up telephone, broadband and intercom (so my wife doesn’t need to use a loud hailer to call be in for tea!)

I can probably run the comms stuff along a fence (there’s already a propane gas line from a tank to the house which follows an appropriate route). However, I’m more concerned about the details – ie normal telephone/broadband line on an extension to the house? A telephone/intercom combination?

How have others approached this?

Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers

Peter
