The BBC coming of age with sheds

Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds! You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.

I love sitcom,“ says 19 year old writer Tim Dawson. “So why isn’t there a show that talks about life from my perspective? That talks about being young – openly, honestly, truthfully. And I mean properly young – a teenager. Loving for the first time, turning cans into bongs, fancying your history teacher, dealing with those pesky unwanted erections-in-public places? Well - now there is.”

is he talking about garden shed in the last line I have never heard a garden shed called an unwanted erection in public ;) anyway its all about a new BBC sitcom.

Coming of Age is a world first for TV comedy – a sitcom about teenagers created and written by a teenager.

Jas, Ollie, Matt, Chloe and DK live in Abingdon. Their lives revolve around college, their bedrooms and, because they are always getting thrown out of the local pub, Ollie’s garden shed.

So sounds like the garden shed is a cross generation wossname, as we all like a drink in the shed.

If anyone is going to the recordings, make sure you take some photos of the shed.

It’s better than Shed.TV it’s Stu’s Shed TV

The wonderful Stu’s Shed has some great videos all wossnamed together in this Stu’s Shed TV section.

The thread cutting one reminds me of school, thats the last time I did anything practical in a shed (really)

They are not embedded (i can’t get it to work) you need to download them to watch but they are very well done, plus you get to see his great shed!

Video of the week : Family guy shed?

I’m a fan of family guy and love the way sometimes the story just goes off to another tangent (a bit like Homer’s thoughts in the Simpson’s) but totally off the wall and just funny.

Anyway I have not seen this one before… and would love to see the finished shed here on readersheds!

Shocking shed video - don’t look if easily wossnamed

This mad sheddie on a forklift truck decided as it says

Roy takes a dilike to his indoor shed and opts for a more al-fresco enviroment to work in

The oneshow sheds

Been away from the shedworld for a few days..

anyway the Beeb’s One show has the the videos up on their website.. they are in Realvideo format and the shed firewall does not allow me to see them, so will have to take a look later.

At least last years Shed of the year winner, Tony with his roman temple  is featured.

But alas no link to their source of the sheddies sheds.

The One show - sheds tonight

AS we have wossnamed before the BBC One show is doing a thing about sheds and it’s on tonight, so this is reminder!

After touring the country examining the British love affair with the lawns, John Sergeant returns with a new search; to find the reason behind our other very British passion for the humble shed.

of course regular readers of this and the readersheds site, will know that they are far from humble, I think Tony of the Roman temple and of course Shed of the Year 2007 is on there, so keep an eye out.

Sheds on the ONE show?

I have been contacted by the production company that do the ONE show quirky features.. and they say the following.

I now have the transmission dates for the ‘Sheds’ programmes and just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their contribution, hospitality and humour. The team really enjoyed working on this project, and I hope you are entertained by the final product.

Sheds 1 - Friday 9 November
Sheds 2 - Thursday 15 November
Sheds 3 - Wednesday 21st November

So I say set the Betamax up in the shed to record it.

Of course if one of my sheddies is on the show good luck, and let me know if you are, as the production company has not said who made it through, which was a shame as the work myself and the sheddies put in to helping them create their show, ah TV people and their funny ways.

Anyway I hope readersheds.co.uk gets a mention.

Shed nuts TV

Both Alex and my mate Dave told me about this, on NUTS.TV  they have a show called Shed Sports One.

According to the blurb

Every night Nuts TV will stick sport and comedy together in a way that shouldn’t be allowed. ‘Comedy Dave’ Vitty and Geoff Norcott will take you to the shed to talk about the day’s big sports’ stories and they want to you to stick your oar in.

Anyway if someone who watches it can send me a screeen grab/photo of the shed that is involved, as I dont get that sort of channel let along know who these people are.
