Just Sheds Tuesday : The Cabana

Shed of the year has been announced. Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds! You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.

I am a happy shedmaster, why you ask, maybe as shedmas is coming, no not that, but decking your shed with holly always gives me a warm glow.

The reason I’am not my normal grumpy self, is that we are getting more and more “foreign” sheddies putting their great sheds up on readersheds.

I know the UK is the spiritual home of the shed, and you lot still surprise me with your unique sheds, but now “joan” and “johnny” foriegner are starting to share their sheds more than ever before, and what fine ones they are.. You just have to look at the last dozen or so sheds shared.

How can I pick one for my weekly round up? it was not easy but I do like the charm of The Cabana which is in a place called Nelson in New Zealand it’s owned by Andrew and he says the following about it.

My shed was originally a potting shed alongside our courtyard. I don’t do gardening, so I converted it into an outside bar.

It now has a pop-out awning, fridge, bar, and brass bell to ring for a new round.

Internal lighting is provided by a butane powered lantern. Special fairy lighting strung around the opening gives a festive air to night-time functions.

I’am sure you would agree that using your standard (or not so standard looking shed in the case) for other uses is the ’spirit’ of being a sheddie, and of course if helps if you turn it into a bar! oh and the dog helps.
