Pigeon fanciers to pay tax on shed as its no sport!

Shed of the year has been announced. Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds! You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.

According to the torygraph

Pigeon fanciers have reacted with fury after being told that they must pay business rates because their pastime is not a recognised sport - a decision they say could cost them millions of pounds.

Pigeon fanciers will be forced to pay rates on the shed where they store their race baskets, because the fact that they are not officially recognised as a sports club means do not qualify for business rate relief.

They now propose to seek the help of the Queen, in her role as Patron of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association, to ask for her intervention.

This country as gone past the point of stupidity. For ferksakes let’s face it making a few quid off of flying in small quantities of cannabis, for personal uses of course, is the only reason that people race pigeons but to get taxed on yer hobby, doh!
