Just Sheds tuesday : Office full of sheds , Tokyo

Welcome Sheddie, this blog is about sheds, we love sheds. You can share your shed, or view other people's sheds. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed or by Email, or read our past posts, or maybe you would like to buy a shed?

I have seen many sheds in offices ideas over the past few years of course they are not garden offices but actual sheds erected inside a normal office (normally arty or architecture types, mind you).

But this current shared collection from Tokyo which are Owned by Martin van der Linden of vanderarchitects.com, are something special, and add a great feature to the sheddies environment, I will let Martin explain on their shed page on readersheds.co.uk

For our new office we took a house in a residential area in the centre of Tokyo. We wanted to make sure that we would not end up with a feeling of being in “an office”. We wanted to create a work environment that expresses what we do, we are architects, we creative, unusual and imaginative.

We sent Nanako, one of our designers house hunting. As most houses in Japan only have a 20-30 year life space we wanted to see if we could salvage an old house and re-use the wood for our sheds. Nanako found a 40 year old house that was about to be torn down. We then asked the demolishion company to give us the wood and interior door frames to re-use.

You can see more pictures here.

I like the idea of rebuilding the sheds within their space… now only if I can get them to design and build a shed for me!
