We like singing in the shed – but think this is a first a choir singing about a shed

As you know we love songs in and about sheds.

But Chris Samueal sent me this video of this Male voice Choir singing about sheds.

as fellow Shed lovers, what with Shed of the Year coming up and all, we humbly submit you our Shed Song sung by The Magnificent AK47 (the singing blokes of Ashton Keynes).

We have recently added a new verse and polished it to a high lustre and are available for singing it, in sheds, or at other times.

and I thought it was great, ok being Welsh singing is in my blood – well I seem to have had a transfusion as I can’t sing for tofffee but my grandfather and uncles where all in choirs in the valleys.. anyway The Magnificent AK47 are a group of blokes who sing.

Formed in 2008 and they are a bunch of blokes who meet every 6 weeks or so to learn songs, enjoy a beer, a couple of hours of camaraderie and fulfill themselves by unlocking the inner minstrel trapped within their humdrum 21st century daily existences.

Most of them are not what you might call “proper singers”. They learn their material by ear, have recordings to help them practice and when they get together they find they very quickly make a sound that can be quite, er, magnificent!

They sing all sorts of material a capella, with no musical accompaniment just harnessing the power of their individual voices joining in unison to create a sound that has been praised by the toughest critics (“the wife”) as “surprisingly good”!

They sing right across the spectrum from serious Georgian choral pieces to daft Caribbean doggerel and fun stuff, like “Haul Away Joe!” whilst dressed as pirates, all of which they occasionally perform in public to great acclaim.
