Planning insult to sheds in Lowestoft

The advertiser24 reports on this science building planing wossname, which some bloke thinks looks like a shed.

A landmark £52.7m council and science building planned for Lowestoft has been branded a “glorified shed” by the head of a respected heritage watchdog.

Mike Coleman, chairman of the Suffolk Preservation Society, spoke out after a series of public exhibitions on the Waveney Campus project was launched.

He said the designers of the building needed to go back to the drawing board, but this week the partners behind the project hit back and insisted they were providing an environmentally friendly building which would provide value for money to taxpayers.

Mr Coleman said: “It looks like a glorified shed. This is supposed to be a landmark building and I think Lowestoft deserves better.

The exhibition continues at various locations around the town until March. Visit www.waveneycampus.co.uk for further details.

To be honest I don’t understand whats he on about..maybe he has not seen some of the great sheds on readersheds.

  1. Difficult to see how it’s shed-like Uncle Wilco. More difficult to understand how “shed-like” is pejorative, there being nothing so glorious as a shed.

Incidentally, ever wondered how half a pint of creosote is like a poodle?

  2. So how’s half a pint of creosote like a poodle?

Half a pint of creosote won’t coat a shed, and the poodle won’t shed his coat.

Just a thought Uncle Wilco; couldn’t you make awards to people like the numpty in the article. You could call the awards Poodles. Award say a Toy Black Poodle to someone like this guy who just embarrasses themselves by being conspicuously shedless, all the way to a Standard Apricot Poodle in Show Trim with Topknot and Bows for the determinedly shedless like as councils who ban sheds from allotment sites?
